Del and his teamates were having the biggest match of their lives. Del is the best player on the team. All his teamates were counting on Del. Del is tired of all the pressure that his father and his friends put on him. He thinks this might be his last match.
When the time for the big match arrives Dell is nervous. He does not play as well and everybody is mad at him. He makes a penalty and now everyone is furious with him, even though it was not his fault. The only one who realizes that the penalty was not his fault was his dad and best friend Spanner. In the end he assists by passing the ball to Spanner who makes a goal. His team wins in the end. Dell's dad realizes that people are all about winning and he sees that his son is very unhappy. He makes it Dell's choice if he wants to continue playing soccer. After being given the choice Dell decides to continue playing because he realizes that despite all the pressure he enjoys football.
I liked the story because I understand the pressure that Dell had because the same thing used to happen to me with my football games. It would make me so nervous that sometimes I couldn't really play well. The nice thing was that my teamates would always say good job but they always expected alot!!!!! I loved every minute of it.

Billy is teaching Queen Norah a song so King Harry thinks the team will not win because the other team carrot castle are cheaters.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Jones will teach princess Jane but she thinks that she's not good and coudn't score.Her dad King Harry said you have to work hard.King Harry thinks that Mr.Goal are doing a dirty tricks because he saw him with King Charles of carrot castle.King Harry and the captain Smith saw Mr.Goal hypnotizing princess Jane .princess Jane told captain Smith nice green pants but it was red.They understand what going on and now they have to knew what to do .They swaped their dress.I really injoined this book because in anyteam if we want to win we must try our best and work as a team and we do not cheat.by:Tala G 4j
Dangerous Trainers
ReplyDeleteMy big brother’s got some new trainers. Thud! Thud! Thud! But they are really dangerous Trainers. My brother doesn’t know that, but at night the trainers move out of their place and go hunting in our garden. They eat moths, beetles, and little tiny baby mice which is really scary. The next day my big brother comes home from school, but there is no Thud! Thud! Thud! Which is weird? When I saw my brother he wasn’t wearing the new trainers. He told that he had left them in the bus and that he knew that they might nibble on his toes. After that we never saw the trainers.
This book was very interesting. I especially liked the part when the trainers started running because that was really funny. The Character I like the most is the little brother because he knew and spied on the trainers when they went hunting. If I could change the title of this book I would make it “The shoes of Danger.”

The Treasure in the Mud

This book is about a boy named Charlie who found a very valuable brooch in the mud. The local bully, Joshua, has other plans; he wanted to take the brooch for himself so Charlie ran away. Joshua caught up and took the brooch. Then a rich women invited Charlie and Joshua, she said her brooch was stolen and Joshua said he found it eventhough he wasn’t really the one. So they gave Joshua the big award and left Charlie with just a few dollars, however the big award was to give Joshua a new life that neither Charlie nor Joshua wanted.
I like this book because it shows that bullies shouldn’t push you around. I thought it was going to be a sad ending when Joshua got the big award until I found out what the award was. My favorite part was when I saw what happened to Joshua, I think he deserved it.
Waiting for Goldie

This story is about a boy named Danny, his grandfather had a couple of racing pigeons and his favourite was Goldie, Goldie's real name was goldeneye.
One day, Goldie was in a race and Danny's grandfather was in hospital because of a mild heart attack. Danny was waiting for Goldie but she was not there!! Danny was surprised because Goldie was always the first in races. When the race was over Goldie was still not there!
Later on Danny's mom told him that they were going to see his grandfather but Danny tried to convince his mom not to take him because what will Danny say to his grandfather when he asks "how is my champion racer? Did she win the race?", his mom did not accept any nonsense like this, so poor Danny was forced to go.
When they arrived Danny's grandfather asked him the question Danny was expecting, Danny did not say a word and his grandfather began to worry. So Danny had to lie and say that she won the race and she feels better than ever. His grandfather was relieved when he heard that but he told Danny that he was worried and thought the falcons had eaten her and suggested someone has to break down their nest up in the quarry.
While they were going out of the hospital Danny thought about what his grandfather said about the falcons and so he decided to look for Goldie up in the quarry. When he reached the quarry Danny decided to climb a high wall which the falcons nest was on. When he reached the nest, he found a little falcon in the nest and felt sorry for it so he did not break down the nest. He climbed a little bit further and found poor Goldie squeezed into a piece of cracked rock! Danny realized that Goldie had broken her leg so he climbed down and tried to mend her leg.
Goldie was not feeling too well but eventually after some tender care she began to recover just in time for his grandfather's return from hospital. Luckily, Danny succeeded in having Goldie in good condition on time and his grandfather was very pleased and did not know of Goldies suffering.
I really enjoyed this story because I thought there was a lot of suspense around the story and very descriptive. I also enjoyed the story because I found the way that Danny handled a difficult situation very smart and interesting. I found it to be mind stimulating.
I learnt from the story that I must have consideration for people's feelings especially for old aged people as they are very sensitive about things that belong to them and care about. If I was in Danny's place, I would have told the grandfather the truth from the very beginning which would have hurt his feelings very much. But what I learnt in difficult situations one may have to make up a story which will help rather than hurt a person's feelings. This is, of course, not an excuse to lie.
I recommend this book to children who are brave and have confidence in themselves. Also, I recommend it to children who are not very considerate about people's feelings as they may learn a few things from Danny.

This story was about a girl that wanted to help her friend make the food for his birthday party. Anjuli the girl went to her friend. Pete opened his present from his mother and father. It was a tool box that had tools in it.
Anjuli liked the tool box a lot so Pete and Anjuli decided to mend the kitchen door. Anjuli cut too much from the door. Anjuli puts some posters and stuff on the cut bit. Anjuli went to the shop to buy tape then the shopkeeper told her to go to the town hall at 12:00 to answer questions about math instead of his son. Anjuli couldn’t do it. She asked Romesh to do it instead he said yes then no. Anjuli didn’t know math and she had only half an hour left. Anjuli asked her math teacher to teach her math. Anjuli got in second place . There was 5 minutes left to the party. Luffy sold a door to Anjuli and she replaced it with the door that was in the kitchen. After that everybody went to the party and had fun.
I think this story was nice. I liked the part when Anjuli was in the competition. I liked the part about the competition because it was a funny part and an interesting part. I really enjoyed this story a lot.

Dinosaur Garden by Susan Gates
ReplyDeleteThis story is about a boy called Liam who found footprints of dinosaurs on the beach near his house. Once he went with his grandparents to a garden centre and he bought some dinosaur seeds. He planted the seeds with his little sister Annie and the seeds grew into huge trees. At night the dinosaurs came and ate Liam's plants but one night a dangerous dinosaur called the Velociraptor came and chased their dog into the woods. In the end Liam found his dog and everybody was happy.
I didn't find the story exiting because; I wouldn’t want to plant some dinosaur seeds in my garden or see a dinosaur. I don’t want to get eaten by one! I read a story just like it but slightly different, it was written about me exploring dinosaurs like Liam. It was given to me as a birthday present.

Angel and elf

The story is about an elf that wanted snow for Christmas. His friend angel told him she could make it snow, by using her wand. And it did snow. After a while snow men came and started to have a snow ball fight. The snow kept falling faster and faster. And the squirrels got stuck under it. Elf and angel wanted the snow to stop but they didn’t know how, until Santa came and stopped it. They thanked him and went to bed. The next morning they woke up to find snow all over the place.
I liked the book because I like the white snow, I love to play with it and do snow men. So I wish I was in the story having a snow fight with the snow men.
I was very sad that it did not snow in Amman this year.

ReplyDeleteThis story is talking about Sam and his dog, Tess was next door he was big and brown he loves to go for a walk, run and jump and best of all, Tess loved to swim.
Sam had new shoes on they were clean and white but Tess didn’t care, the dog pulled Sam along the road and to the park across the grass and threw the mud . Sam had to run to keep up his feet started to hurt.
“slow down” Sam shouted stop, Tess sit but Tess, didn’t notice at all the dog just ran on and on until he got to the pond. Sam sat down on the grass “what a silly dog you are?” he laughed come on I’ll get you something to play with. Sam found a stick “here, Tess” and threw it up in the air splash! Went the stick into the pond splash! Went Tess as he jumped in and swam after it he was soon back with the stick in his mouth he put it down at Sam’s feet “clever dog”. Said Sam. Sam threw the stick again until he got tiered he called Tess “its time to go home now” said Sam but Tess didn’t notice “I am not going to wait I’ll just get my shoes and go. Sam went back to were he had left his shoes he locked everywhere , he said “some one has taken my new shoes what will mom say suddenly the dog put his head down and died under the water then he came up again with an old bottle In his mouth he gave it to Sam what could it be? Stop playing about said Sam come on now! But Tess wouldn’t come she jumped back into the pond he came up with a big log in his mouth Sam was getting cross now come here at once. He jumped in and died again now Sam was very cross, he shouted “you are a very bad dog” he dived again and came again he had something in his mouth what could it be Tess swam to the grass and dropped it at Sam’s feet .
Sam bent down and looked “my shoes he said”. You have found my shoes you clever boy” Tess barked and shook himself all over Sam again.
“My lovely dog” said Sam.
I liked this story because the dog was very friendly.

The best kid in “Westcot Green School” was Simon, but he was in the hospital with appendicitis, which meant Anjuli had to convince Romesh; the second best in math at school, to take her place and wear like a girl and participate in the competition. When she was walking in the hallway, she bumped into her math teacher, Mr. Williams. This made it impossible for Romesh to replace her. Anjuli was not good in math, she asked Mr. Williams to go over everything she needs to know about math for the competition. After insisting, he agreed and promised to help. She was very nervous when she got on stage. She was able to participate and answer questions correctly. When they got to the last question “Riddington Green School” answered the question correctly, and they won the Inter-School Maths Challenge, and “Westcot Green School” came second. Afterwards, they all went home and celebrated Pete’s birthday party and had a good time. Earlier, Pete had received a woodwork set from his parents as a birthday gift. Anjuli and Pete tried to fix the kitchen door in Pete’s house, but they failed.
I wonder how they expected everyone not to notice Romesh wearing Anjuli’s clothes! Luckily Anjuli did well. This was a very interesting book to read, I enjoyed it.

My story ''Run for it'' talks about a boy called Ricky who was running in the story because running makes him escape into a private world of his own to run away from things and people that bother him.
The great little runner was running from his mean mum, the boy that bullied him at school, his bossy neighbor, the police and also his school.
It did not matter to him where he was running to, or what he was running from. Simply running was enough to make him happy.
At school, Ricky was chosen to be in the running team in the Cross Country championship. All the teachers were cheering and wanted him to win the race. Ricky made it and every one in the school were very proud of him. He was also chosen to be in the major country championship next month.
An interesting and easy to read story that kept me reading and reading seven chapters without noticing. I felt sorry for Ricky how life was black in front of his eyes, but the ending made happy and proud of him and I am sure he will have more confidence in himself now!

Clive has a little sister called Jade who was mad about animals, so one day, and Clive's teacher was announcing that bubbles the school hamster needed someone to take care of him for the holiday Clive got to do it but the hamster got lost so they got another one but then they found bubbles, but the other one had 10 babies so they sold the other ones
I liked the part when the other hamster got babies and it had a lot of adjectives.

Making Music by Mick Gowar
ReplyDeleteThis book is about a man called Simon Gunton who plays different musical instruments and tells us about them. He started playing the trombone when he was very young, and the first band he joined was the Salvation Army. He talks about how to conduct an orchestra, he also tells us about the instruments he plays. Simon played on some of the soundtracks for different movies such as: Shrek I & II, Beauty and the Beast, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Shark tale and The Lord of the Rings.
I think this book was interesting because I can play on the piano and I like music. I learned many things but what I liked most was that Ancient Egyptians used to play musical instruments that are similar to instruments we have today.

Dexter’s Dinosaurs

Are you mad about dinosaurs? Dexter is if you would just look at his room. At his birthday he had Dinosaur balloons, Dinosaur cards, Dinosaur pizza and Dinosaur cake. Dexter wished he had a dinosaur for a pet but he didn’t. He only had a gerbil which wasn’t the same. At his birthday wish, he wished for a dinosaur pet. When he found a wizard which said a magic spell and dinosaurs came out of nowhere but they were scary. They broke windows, hunted humans and didn’t care about anything except eating .At the end Dexter wished them away and thought about what he wanted for next birthday.
This book was very fun to read because I like dinosaurs as much as Dexter does and I really liked the plot of the story it was very interesting. Obviously my favorite character was Dexter because he loved dinosaurs and if I could change the title of the story I would make it “Dinosaurs for Dexter.”

This is about a boy called Clive. He woke up in the morning and he didn’t notice he was late for the school trip. He changed his clothes and started to sing: I’m Clive look at me I’m cool as you can see, but I’ve got to hurry got to be quick today he day for my school trip. He then looked at clock and realized that he was late. So he hurried to school but it was too late. As soon as he reached the school the bus doors closed. He kept staring at the bus, but wait a second the bus stooped because it was red traffic so he ran as fast as he could and reached the bus. They all had a nice trip

Saturday I’m here with great aunt Daisy she’s my mom’s aunt and she lives by the see, the beach here look’s great I think I’m going to like it.
Sunday we went to the beach and aunt Daisy gave me the money to get an ice- cream it was very breezy, there was an artist selling pictures and he was painting, a picture of a sea, the wind threw my ice –cream on to the picture that he was painting the artist shouted but I just ran.
Monday it was wet when I woke up this morning but aunt Daisy said never mind, I could help her to make cupboard under the stairs I had fun with some old hats it was wet all day and we couldn’t go to the beach.
Tuesday morning it was still wet I found a box of photographs in the cupboard under the stairs they were old and some of the pictures were in an album ,aunt Daisy told me there were some photographs of mum as a little girl. It stopped raining so we are taking the album to the beach this after noon to look at.
Tuesday afternoon he sat on the balkon the sun was out I was carrying the photograph album aunt Daisy told me to be careful with it because she didn’t want her pictures to get lost.
Wednesday the album is back in the cupboard under the stairs now, perhaps I should say something to aunt Daisy about the missing page but she might be cross, we went to the beach today when I wanted an ice – cream I didn’t go to the artist I went the other way. First day I was so scared.
Thursday aunt Daisy has found out about the missing pictures this is how it happened I tried to hide from the artist but aunt Daisy went to look at his pictures and she got a surprise there was a picture of a beautiful young women with long red hair- and it was aunt Daisy she could hardly believe it.
Aunt Daisy told the artist he smiled then he said he thought he had something that was hers aunt Daisy asked him were he had got it the artist told here that the wind threw it his way .
I liked this story because I like to make my diary.
Jelly fish shoes

This story is talking about Laura and her new shoes, she was really proud of them they were pink and see through like raspberry jelly she ran down to the beach in them wherever she walked they left little tracks in the sand Laura called her brother my new jellyfish shoes are leaving stars in the sand ,she left up her shoe what is that mess “ it’s only a jelly fish” said Scot.
Well I don’t like it said Laura it look’s like a jelly cow pat
(yuk) cried Laura there are loads of them I hate jelly fish they will spoil my new jelly shoes Scot looked at Laura’s new shoes an idea popped into his head, I don’t know why you hate jelly fish what do you think your new shoes are made of?
Laura looked down at her new shoes they were see through and pink the jelly fish on the beach were see through and pink too.
How good at stories the jelly worker come around at night with bin bag and they shovel all the jelly fish into the bag and they take them away to the jelly shoes factory
Laura picked up her shoes and threw them into the sea “I don’t like it, I hate it” said Laura.
I liked this story because it’s very interesting to know how to make jelly fish shoes
